Setting Up Your NetSmith Preferences
Startup : Select what you want NetSmith to do at startup. You will most likely choose from either Do Nothing, Create a Blank Document, or Open an existing document if you have not used the HTML Essentials Editor or Assistants yet. After you read about these in Part II. Intermediate Stuff, you will be able to come back and change these.
Editor : This panel contains settings related to the editor. Checking Syntax Coloring will enable syntax coloring. Choosing Smart syntax coloring will only color words NetSmith recognizes. Choosing Basic syntax coloring will color anything typed after a <. Indent preservation will automatically indent the same amount as the previous line is when a new line is started. Show invisibles will draw red marks in spaces and returns.
FTP : This panel contains settings related to uploading your webpage. The four fields are used as defaults when uploading. Checking "Always Use These Setttings" will make these settings the only FTP settings you use, so that you will not have to re-enter them every time.
META : This panel contains META information (tags that provide browsers and search engines with info about your page) used by the User META insert and certain assistants. Leaving a field unchecked will exclude that field when the User META insert is used.
